Party Pooper
I am not a fan of the Olympics at the best of times, but the fact that it is held in China makes me sick.
The beautiful little girl who appeared to be singing the Chinese national anthem was lip-syncing because the actual talented singer did not look good enough.

I heard rumors that the Chinese planned to change the weather for the Olympics. This is how they did it:
“Chinese meteorological officials confirmed over the weekend that more than 1,100 silver iodide shells were fired into the clouds to drain them of moisture before they approached the stadium where the ceremony was under way.” (source)
Besides communism, what else is wrong with China?
“Pregnant women hunted down by population control police and subjected to forced abortion for violating China’s one-child-per-family law.”
“Women mutilated through forced sterilization.”
“Women forced to endure life-threatening forms of birth control.”

Besides being held in China, what else is wrong with the Olympics? I guess I am offended by the idolatry, and the opening ceremonies has always struck me as a big pagan, self-adoration, self-worshipping kind of thing. And I really couldn’t care less about sports. But maybe I am just a party-pooper. Yeah, that’s it.

I actually feel better after reading this. I recently made a post about NOT watching the Olympics, and I felt like the only one. I wasn’t “boycotting” or anything due to China, but after reading this, I feel I have a legitimate reason to not watch now.
I know the athletes/participants don’t have a say in WHERE the Olympics are held. I value their talent and support THEM. But there is no denying the facts about China.
Count me in – I don’t see anything about this whole “show” that impresses me one bit. Their over-the-top efforts to appear great when the country is bankrupt in all the ways that matter makes me a little ill.
