    Arizona Grandmother Insists That 8-Year-Old Was Capable of Killing
    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2008/11/27/AR2008112702553.html?nav=rss_nation

    “‘I knew this would happen,’ she [his grandmother] said. ‘They were too hard on [the boy]. I knew [the boy] did it. He spent the night in my bed cuddling up to me. I had a feeling he did it. If any 8-year-old boy is capable of doing this, it’s [the boy].’”

    “In a police interview released last week, the boy said he had been spanked five times the night before the shootings because he did not bring home some papers from school. The boy told a state Child Protective Services worker that his 1,000th spanking would be his last, according to the documents released Wednesday.”

    “In an affidavit for a search warrant, Sgt. Lucas Rodriguez writes that the boy tallied the spankings on a piece of paper.”

    All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth (Video)

    carol | November 24, 2008

    During the past couple of weeks, C7 had been busy wiggling her top two baby teeth until they fell out. She just happened to lose the first one on the same day she attended a little girl “fairy” party with some other homeschoolers. It was fun to have the “Tooth Fairy” visit that very night.

    This is the perfect time of year for C7 to sing “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth” with her new smile. She and her doll plan to wear matching dresses and sing this song tomorrow evening at the Old Folk’s Home.

    All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth

    All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth

    All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth,
    My two front teeth,
    See my two front teeth

    Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth,
    Then I could wish you ‘Merry Christmas.’

    It seems so long since I could say,
    “This is Susie sitting on a thistle”
    Gosh oh gee, how happy I’d be,
    If I could only whistle ( thhh-thhh ).

    All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth,
    My two front teeth,
    See my two front teeth.

    Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth,
    Then I could wish you ‘Merry Christmas.’

    Attending Religious Services Sharply Cuts Risk Of Death, Study Suggests

    “Regular attendance at religious services reduces the risk of death by approximately 20 percent.”

    I think it has to do with understanding forgiveness and learning to “let go”.

    Tragic Death of 15-year-old Boy

    carol | November 18, 2008

    http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2008/11/05/crisp-body.html

    “The teen disappeared on Oct. 13 after arguing with his parents over a favourite Xbox video game, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. They had taken the game away from him because they felt he had become obsessed with it and his many connections in the online gaming community.”

    http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/537519

    I wasn’t going to comment on this, as I have no intention of judging these parents. I see this more as a parent/child communication problem rather than a video game problem. It is so important to listen to our teens. Prevention would be best, so if your children are young, establish boundaries long before gaming gets out of hand. I think problem-solving is the best way to handle video game conflicts. In our home, we have always had the rule that Mature-rated games are not allowed. I don’t find the Teen-rated games to be too bad. Our video gaming is done in the living room, and I think it is a modern way of children playing together. The tragic story of Brandon Crisp reminds us to connect with our teens, and to be there for them, so they won’t feel the need to flee.

    LIBERAL MEDIA: Masters of Deceit Who Got Obama Elected

    carol | November 18, 2008

    This is not what this post is about, but I think Obama needs to be credited for what he believes. When I saw this graphic animated image of Obama at Jill Stanek’s site (who spotted the image at The Abortion Gallery), I recognized it as an accurate visualization of how I picture Obama. If you have ever spent much time at my site, you already know that I link to graphic abortion videos, pictures, and even post occasional images on my site. Depending on your monitor, you may not even be able to tell when I link to something because the hotlink font is green and doesn’t look much different than the regular blog text.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Seeing Obama meeting President Bush and the First Lady at the White House and watching McCain and Obama together post-election made me cry.
    I saw this on FOX News last night and was anxious to post the link and video. I found it hard to get through the Obama chant that begins (and ends) this clip, but the the interviews with Obama voters are very telling.
    http://howobamagotelected.com/
    Blaming Palin even though it was Obama who claimed to campaign in 57 states was ANNOYING.
    When asked, “Where do you get your information?” they answered, the liberal media. And the lady at the end of the video, “I think I’m not as informed as I thought I was, but I still don’t think I would change my vote.” The media ran an extremely successful campaign for Obama.
    Zogby Poll
    512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points
    97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates
    Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions
    57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
    81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
    82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
    88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
    56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).
    And yet…..
    Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
    Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
    And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
    Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
    Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we “gave” one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)
    Christmas Header
