    Wow… The stories a person’s iTunes music playlist tells… When a lifetime of clues and hints and flashing lights aren’t enough, you sometimes need to hit a brick wall – or visit hell.

    “The teen disappeared on Oct. 13 after arguing with his parents over a favourite Xbox video game, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. They had taken the game away from him because they felt he had become obsessed with it and his many connections in the online gaming community.”

    I wasn’t going to comment on this, as I have no intention of judging these parents. I see this more as a parent/child communication problem rather than a video game problem. It is so important to listen to our teens. Prevention would be best, so if your children are young, establish boundaries long before gaming gets out of hand. I think problem-solving is the best way to handle video game conflicts. In our home, we have always had the rule that Mature-rated games are not allowed. I don’t find the Teen-rated games to be too bad. Our video gaming is done in the living room, and I think it is a modern way of children playing together. The tragic story of Brandon Crisp reminds us to connect with our teens, and to be there for them, so they won’t feel the need to flee.

    LIBERAL MEDIA: Masters of Deceit Who Got Obama Elected

    | November 18, 2008

    This is not what this post is about, but I think Obama needs to be credited for what he believes. When I saw this graphic animated image of Obama at Jill Stanek‘s site (who spotted the image at The Abortion Gallery), I recognized it as an accurate visualization of how I picture Obama. If you have ever spent much time at my site, you already know that I link to graphic abortion videos, pictures, and even post occasional images on my site. Depending on your monitor, you may not even be able to tell when I link to something because the hotlink font is green and doesn’t look much different than the regular blog text.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Seeing Obama meeting President Bush and the First Lady at the White House and watching McCain and Obama together post-election made me cry.
    I saw this on FOX News last night and was anxious to post the link and video. I found it hard to get through the Obama chant that begins (and ends) this clip, but the the interviews with Obama voters are very telling.
    http://howobamagotelected.com/
    Blaming Palin even though it was Obama who claimed to campaign in 57 states was ANNOYING.
    When asked, “Where do you get your information?” they answered, the liberal media. And the lady at the end of the video, “I think I’m not as informed as I thought I was, but I still don’t think I would change my vote.” The media ran an extremely successful campaign for Obama.
    Zogby Poll
    512 Obama Voters 11/13/08-11/15/08 MOE +/- 4.4 points
    97.1% High School Graduate or higher, 55% College Graduates
    Results to 12 simple Multiple Choice Questions
    57.4% could NOT correctly say which party controls congress (50/50 shot just by guessing)
    81.8% could NOT correctly say Joe Biden quit a previous campaign because of plagiarism (25% chance by guessing)
    82.6% could NOT correctly say that Barack Obama won his first election by getting opponents kicked off the ballot (25% chance by guessing)
    88.4% could NOT correctly say that Obama said his policies would likely bankrupt the coal industry and make energy rates skyrocket (25% chance by guessing)
    56.1% could NOT correctly say Obama started his political career at the home of two former members of the Weather Underground (25% chance by guessing).
    And yet…..
    Only 13.7% failed to identify Sarah Palin as the person on which their party spent $150,000 in clothes
    Only 6.2% failed to identify Palin as the one with a pregnant teenage daughter
    And 86.9 % thought that Palin said that she could see Russia from her “house,” even though that was Tina Fey who said that!!
    Only 2.4% got at least 11 correct.
    Only .5% got all of them correct. (And we “gave” one answer that was technically not Palin, but actually Tina Fey)
    Christmas Header
    Inspired by Leann and reminded of how soon Advent begins by TulipGirl, I thought I would decorate my website for Christmas. This is just a heads-up to those of you who use a reader and never see my header picture anyway. *grin* How about clicking through to my site. :-)
    Reader Letter
    | November 15, 2008
    I recently received this letter and have been given permission to post it. I appreciate her perspective as a public school teacher. I pray she has a great pregnancy and thoroughly enjoys the gift of motherhood.
    “…My husband and I are currently expecting our first baby (due in April!) I am so excited to be a mom and have been cruising the net reading parenting articles. I particularly enjoyed your website’s homeschooling articles. I teach high school in the inner city, and as a teacher, one might think that makes me an advocate of public schools. I am not. You are absolutely right about the problems with public education. I love my students fiercely, and I do my very best for them, but it will never be enough because of the inherent problems in the system. No matter how dedicated or well-meaning teachers are, we cannot protect our kids from the influences and pressures they face at school, among hundreds of other problems.”
    “I will not be returning to work after the baby comes and I am truly looking forward to being a stay-at-home mom. I have also been considering homeschooling lately and I feel very encouraged by your advice and perspective. Thank you for taking the time to share your wisdom and experience.”
    Abortionist Turned Pro-Life
    | November 14, 2008
    Edited to add more of Dr. Adasevic’s story. Wow. He was an abortion survivor himself, who went on to perform between 48,000 and 62,000 abortions. His record was 35 in one day. What a story. You HAVE to read more about his dreams.
    http://www.jillstanek.com/archives/2008/11/stojan_adasevic.html
    (Link shared by Annette)
    I think this quote from Dr. Adasevic sums it up. “I saw without seeing.”
    Original post as follows:
    Another ‘champion of abortion’ becomes defender of life: the story of Sotjan Adasevic
    http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=14322
    In describing his conversion, Adasevic “dreamed about a beautiful field full of children and young people who were playing and laughing, from 4 to 24 years of age, but who ran away from him in fear. A man dressed in a black and white habit stared at him in silence. The dream was repeated each night and he would wake up in a cold sweat. One night he asked the man in black and white who he was. ‘My name is Thomas Aquinas,’ the man in his dream responded. Adasevic, educated in communist schools, had never heard of the Dominican genius saint. He didn’t recognize the name.”“Why don’t you ask me who these children are?” St. Thomas asked Adasevic in his dream.
    “They are the ones you killed with your abortions,’ St. Thomas told him.
    “Adasevic awoke in amazement and decided not to perform any more abortions,” the article stated.
    “That same day a cousin came to the hospital with his four months-pregnant girlfriend, who wanted to get her ninth abortion—something quite frequent in the countries of the Soviet bloc. The doctor agreed. Instead of removing the fetus piece by piece, he decided to chop it up and remove it as a mass. However, the baby’s heart came out still beating. Adasevic realized then that he had killed a human being.”
    After this experience, Adasevic “told the hospital he would no longer perform abortions. Never before had a doctor in Communist Yugoslavia refused to do so.  They cut his salary in half, fired his daughter from her job, and did not allow his son to enter the university.”
    After years of pressure and on the verge of giving up, he had another dream about St. Thomas.
    “You are my good friend, keep going,’ the man in black and white told him.  Adasevic became involved in the pro-life movement and was able to get Yugoslav television to air the film ‘The Silent Scream,’ by Doctor Bernard Nathanson, two times.”
    Stojan Adasevic
    The following video is the film that Dr. Stojan Adasevic got aired on Yugoslav television.
    Homeschooler: "Do you know your times tables?" and "No more talking"
    | November 14, 2008
    Last night at Tae Kwon Do, a girl around eleven, asked N15 where he went to school. When he said he was homeschooled, she was shocked. A few minutes later, she came up to him and asked, “You are really homeschooled?” Then she began the questions. “Do you have any friends? Who teaches you? Did she used to be a teacher?” And then the funniest question N15 has ever been asked, “Do you know your times tables?” N15 has finished algebra, advanced math, and is working through calculus.
    Another funny thing happened last night. As homeschoolers, we have been told time and time again to get involved in extracurricular activities for socialization. The Tae Kwon Do teacher told the children to stop talking. I have no problem with that, but it is funny how we are told that this “schoolish” environment is what socialization is all about. The same thing happened with soccer in the summer. C7’s coach told the girls on the team to “STOP SOCIALIZING!”
