    The day after the tea parties was the first day since the election that I thought maybe God did know what He was doing when he allowed Barack Obama to become President. ;-) I think the socialist, anti-life Obama government is helping to awaken and shake the grassroots Christian conservative movement. Perhaps people DO care enough to ACT.

    The lovely and intelligent Gov. Sarah Palin spoke last night at the Evansville Right to Life dinner. What a breath of fresh air! What an encouragement to those of us discouraged by the defeats of the past few months. What a way for Sarah to make her come-back! A pro-life speech! And she did it without a teleprompter.

    Go Sarah!! Go Sarah!! Go Sarah!!

    Here are some excerpts and quotes from her speech. I hope to find the complete transcript.

    “message of life and hope”

    “What drives us to so desire a culture of life for America.”

    “Anyone who goes there [Alaska] cannot deny the Hand of the Creator.”

    “Life for every baby, no matter what today’s society is trying to tell us, is worthy life or perfect life.”

    “He [Trig] turns one year old on Saturday, and he is our gift from God. He’s proven to me, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that every innocent life does have purpose and there is no accident. And I’m going to choose the Creator’s idea of perfection over our society’s definition of perfection any day.”

    “I have learned some things. Some things that I know now for sure. Not the least of which is the need to identify who we are. Why we are so confident America can embrace a culture of life. Knowing there is purpose and good destiny for every child, no matter your party or your background or your race or religion. Protecting and promoting the sanctity of life trumps all of that. Some things we can all know for sure. America’s forefathers founded this great nation with powerful words in America’s of Declaration of Independence. They read in part like a holy text. ‘We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.’”

    “Life is valuable because it is ordained, and not because it is utilitarian. That life is precious whether in the form of a helpless baby or a dependent senior citizen or a special special-needs kid. I know for sure that my son is perfect just as he is. And I do believe he is made in the image of God.”

    “The moment that he [Trig] was born, I knew for sure that my prayer was answered and my heart overflowed with joy. I felt a love that I had never felt before and compassion that I didn’t even know was there. Trig is a miracle. He has brought amazing and surprising happiness and great, great perspective… He has brought amazing and surprising happiness. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me and I want other women to give this a chance…”

    “Don’t be afraid to speak up!”

    “I’m just a governor, but I don’t think it’s above my paygrade to rally you to speak up and remind everyone, remind the White House, that we are proud to be Americans because our republic declared then as we’re going to declare now that America believes in the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.”
