“First, Roberts and his fellow strict constructionists on the court are now armed and ready with a powerful rationale for overturning the 1973 Roe v. Wade abortion ruling if Justice Anthony Kennedy or a future justice becomes the fifth vote against Roe.”
“Secondly, successfully placing Roberts atop the high court is beginning to look like former President George W. Bush’s most important legacy – a gift that will keep on giving for conservatives for decades.”

Yes, Carol, and this was the argument I always made to those who said that GWB didn’t do anything for the cause of life Yes, he did. They didn’t necessarily like it because it worked incrementally, rather than in one fell swoop – but the ground work he laid down was very very important. He also worked to make adoption easier, upheld the Mexico City policy, and worked to pave the way for other steps to outlaw abortion. (Parental notification laws, Born Alive Infant Act, etc.) I never understood how people could say that he did nothing.
I agree.
GWB was a good man. He doesn’t deserve the disdain he receives.
It would be so incredible to see an overturn of Roe v. Wade.
