Free from the law, O happy condition,
Jesus has bled and there is remission,
Cursed by the law and bruised by the fall, Grace hath redeemed us once for all.
Once for all, O sinner, receive it,
Once for all, O brother, believe it;
Cling to the cross, the burden will fall, Christ hath redeemed us once for all.
Now we are free, there’s no condemnation,
Jesus provides a perfect salvation.
“Come unto Me,” O hear His sweet call,
Come, and He saves us once for all.
“Children of God,” O glorious calling, Surely His grace will keep us from falling;
Passing from death to life at His call;
Blessèd salvation once for all.
My soul is filled with joy and gladness
Since Jesus came to me.
His love has banished all my sadness, From sin I am set free.
He set me free, He set me free,
I was blind, but hallelujah, now I see!
I shall ne’er forget the day When He washed my sins away,
And He set, He set me free.
The Comforter divine is dwelling
Within my soul today;
His love to others I am telling
Since Jesus came to stay.
The grace of Jesus hath abounded
For all my sins I see,
Salvation walls have me surrounded, From sin I am set free.
Once I was bound by sin’s galling fetters;
Chained like a slave, I struggled in vain. But I received a glorious freedom,
When Jesus broke my fetters in twain.
Glorious freedom! Wonderful freedom!
No more in chains of sin I repine!
Jesus the glorious Emancipator—
Now and forever He shall be mine.
Freedom from all the carnal affections;
Freedom from envy, hatred and strife;
Freedom from vain and worldly ambitions;
Freedom from all that saddened my life!
Freedom from pride and all sinful follies;
Freedom from love and glitter of gold;
Freedom from evil temper and anger;
Glorious freedom, rapture untold!
Freedom from fear with all of its torments;
Freedom from care with all of its pain;
Freedom in Christ, my blessèd Redeemer—
He Who has rent my fetters in twain.
Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come,
Why should my heart be lonely, and long for heaven and home,
When Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free,
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.
“Let not your heart be troubled,” His tender word I hear,
And resting on His goodness, I lose my doubts and fears;
Though by the path He leadeth, but one step I may see;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
Whenever I am tempted, whenever clouds arise,
When songs give place to sighing, when hope within me dies,
I draw the closer to Him, from care He sets me free;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me.
I watched Oprah’s interview with Michael’s parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson. After years of denying it, and when his wife said he might as well admit it, Joe finally confessed to beating using a strap to punish his children. I found it very sad that he was so proud that out of nine children, none of them ever went to jail. Wow. That is the standard? Raising a child that doesn’t end up in jail? He credits it to strapping them, and he has no regrets. Imagine having the parenting goal of keeping your children out of jail! I suspect it is more common than I can imagine.
I was disappointed that the grandparents sent Prince and Paris to school, but fortunately, Blanket is still being homeschooled. He is going into grade four.
I also felt disappointed that Oprah chose to interview the Jackson children and expose them to the world.
I was so pleased when ThatMom posted these videos. The father/son relationship is so loving and respectful. I suspect most American homes of that time were not so forgiving.
Personally, I can’t understand how cribs ever “caught on”. It is unthinkable for me to put my baby anywhere else at night. Every night, she sleeps next to me, or cradled in my arms, or on my chest.
Elton John – I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues
Don’t wish it away
Don’t look at it like it’s forever
Between you and me
I could honestly say
That things can only get better
And while I’m away
Dust out the demons inside
And it won’t be long
Before you and me run
To the place in our hearts
Where we hide
And I guess that’s why
They call it the blues
Time on my hands
Could be time spent with you
Laughing like children
Living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that’s why
They call it the blues
Just stare into space
Picture my face in your hands
Live for each second
Without hesitation
And never forget I’m your man
Without me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself
And I guess that’s why
They call it the blues
Time on my hands
Could be time spent with you
Laughing like children
Living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that’s why
They call it the blues
Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself
And I guess that’s why
They call it the blues
Time on my hands
Could be time spent with you
Laughing like children
Living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
And I guess that’s why
They call it the blues
“George W Bush today reveals that his mother had a miscarriage when he was a teenager and showed him the foetus in a jar.”
“In a remarkably candid interview to be broadcast tonight, the former President said Barbara Bush asked doctors to save the dead baby so she could show it to her son.”
“On a subsequent hospital visit she calmly motioned to the jar and told
him: ‘Here’s the foetus’.”
“The astonishing episode left a huge impact on the young Mr Bush and hardened his pro-life stance, causing him to lean further to the right on issue of abortion and stem cell therapy.”
“‘There’s no question that affected me, a philosophy that we should
respect life,’ he said.”
“‘There was a human life, a little brother or sister’.”
“He had driven his mother to hospital for an appointment following the miscarriage when she showed him the jar containing the child.”
He will likely be asked about this during interviews all week. I will add to this post if necessary.
Nov. 2: Rock on Tea Party! Let Freedom Ring!! ……. Americans need a voting system like ours – no chads or dimples or voter fraud…
Nov. 2: Channel 507 on Bell ExpressVu ** FOX NEWS ROCKS!! ** Glenn Beck’s Insider Extreme is great, too. ** Tea partying tonight! ** Been hoping for the tide to turn for the past 25 years. ** See ya later Reid and Pelosi. ** My goal is personhood for the unborn.
Nov. 3: Boys stayed up until 1AM and 2AM. B12 made a chart with red and blue markers. They enjoyed the evening immensely. What makes US politics more fun is that unlike Canada, all the parties aren’t the same. Here, we have socialist, more socialist, and most socialist. We don’t have true conservatives nor libertarians.
