FREE FROM THE LAW

Michael Jackson’s Family on Oprah

I watched Oprah’s interview with Michael’s parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson. After years of denying it, and when his wife said he might as well admit it, Joe finally confessed to ~~beating~~ using a strap to punish his children. I found it very sad that he was so proud that out of nine children, none of them ever went to jail. Wow. That is the standard? Raising a child that doesn’t end up in jail? He credits it to strapping them, and he has no regrets. Imagine having the parenting goal of keeping your children out of jail! I suspect it is more common than I can imagine.

I was disappointed that the grandparents sent Prince and Paris to school, but fortunately, Blanket is still being homeschooled. He is going into grade four.

I also felt disappointed that Oprah chose to interview the Jackson children and expose them to the world.
