I bought two boxes of size 6 Huggies on clearance today, saving me $54.22 off the regular price!!! That doesn’t happen every day! The diaper company changed the packaging, and the grocery store wanted to get rid of the old style! I wish I could have bought more, but there were only two boxes left.

    Muse – Uprising (HQ)

    Uprising ~ Muse

The paranoia is in bloom, the PR
    The transmissions will resume
    They’ll try to push drugs
Keep us all dumbed down and hope that
We will never see the truth around
    (So come on!)

    Another promise, another scene, another
A package not to keep us trapped in greed
With all the green belts wrapped around our minds

And endless red tape to keep the truth confined
    (So come on!)

    They will not force us
    They will stop degrading us
    They will not control us
    We will be victorious

    Interchanging mind control
Come let the revolution take its toll if you could
Flick a switch and open your third eye, you’d see that
We should never be afraid to die
    (So come on!)

Rise up and take the power back, it’s time that
The fat cats had a heart attack, you know that
Their time is coming to an end
We have to unify and watch our flag ascend

    They will not force us
    They will stop degrading us
    They will not control us
    We will be victorious

    Hey .. hey … hey .. hey!
    Hey .. hey … hey .. hey!

    They will not force us
    They will stop degrading us
    They will not control us
    We will be victorious

    Hey .. hey … hey .. hey!
    Hey .. hey … hey .. hey!

    Dirty Dishes ~ Scotty McCreery

    | November 9, 2011

Scotty McCreery – Dirty Dishes (Yahoo Music Session)

    Dirty Dishes ~ Scotty McCreery

    Mama hollers “Supper time,
And don’t make me tell you twice
Wash your hands and wipe your face.
The table’s no place for your toys,
And try to use your inside voice,
Don’t dig in ’til we say Grace.”
So we put down our forks and bowed our heads
And then she prayed the strangest prayer ever said:

“Well, I wanna thank You Lord,
For noisy children and slammin’ doors,
And clothes scattered all over the floor,
My husband workin’ all the time,
Draggin’ in dead tired at night,
    My never ending messy kitchen
    And dirty dishes.”

We all got real still and quiet,
And daddy asked “Hon, are you alright?”
She said, “Dear, ain’t nothing wrong,
    Noisy kids are happy kids,
And slamming doors just means we live,
In a warm and loving home,
Your long hours and those dishes in the sink,
Means a job and enough to eat.

So I’m gonna thank You Lord,
For noisy children and slammin’ doors,
And clothes scattered all over the floor,
My husband workin’ all the time,
    Draggin’ dead tired at night,
    My never ending messy kitchen

    For my little busy bees
Beggin’ Mama, Mama can you please?
Always wantin’ to call in vain
    Loads of laundry pilin’ up
Their crayons crushed into the rug
And in those little sticky kisses
    And dirty dishes,
    And dirty dishes…

    Turn Around

    | July 22, 2011

Johnny Cash & June Carter – Turn Around

    Turn Around
Where are you going, my little one, little one,
Where are you going, my baby, my own?
    Turn around and you’re two,
    turn around and you’re four,
Turn around, you’re a young girl going out of my door.
    Turn around, turn around,
Turn around, you’re a young girl going out of my door.

Where are you going, my little one, little one?
Dirndls and petticoats, where have you gone?
    Turn around and you’re tiny,
    turn around and you’re grown,
Turn around, you’re a young wife
    with babes of your own.
    Turn around, turn around,
Turn around, you’re a young wife
    with babes of your own.

    “But now I’m free”

    | July 22, 2011

    I’ve got no strings
    To hold me down
To make me fret, or make me frown

    But now I’m free
There are no strings on me

Top Of The World ~ Carpenters
Such a feelin’s comin’ over me
There is wonder in most every thing I see
Not a cloud in the sky, got the sun in my eyes
    And I won’t be surprised if it’s a dream

Everything I want the world to be
Is now comin’ true especially for me
And the reason is clear, it’s because you are here
You’re the nearest thing to Heaven that I’ve seen

I’m on the top of the world lookin’ down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I’ve found ever since you’ve been around
Your love’s put me at the top of the world

Somethin’ in the wind has learned my name
And it’s tellin’ me that things are not the same
In the leaves on the trees and the touch of the breeze
There’s a pleasin’ sense of happiness for me

There is only one wish on my mind
When this day is through I hope that I will find
That tomorrow will be just the same for you and me
All I need will be mine if you are here

I’m on the top of the world lookin’ down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I’ve found ever since you’ve been around
Your love’s put me at the top of the world

I’m on the top of the world lookin’ down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I’ve found ever since you’ve been around
Your love’s put me at the top of the world

    Hydracephalus and Hope

    | January 26, 2011

I hoped to come across this clip ever since I saw it live the other night on American Idol.

“And they told me that she had hydracephalus, which is something that is water in the ventricles and that she might not survive. They told me that I shouldn’t have her and it wasn’t gonna be good if I did. But I decided to keep forward with the pregnancy.” Paris Tassin

I loved that Jennifer Lopez took the time to stop to see the precious little girl.

Most women would have chosen to kill such a little girl before birth. Most doctors would advise it.

    The Church

    | January 24, 2011

I came across this video yesterday about waking up churches. It is sometimes difficult to recognize “the church” in churches. This is especially true when it comes to the issue of abortion. When thousands upon thousands of unborn babies are being dismembered or burned in this country every year, I find it impossible to get excited about church socials.

“You need to put your faith on your feet, and be available to people”

Today I found this post at a friend’s blog along with the Freedom song. I was blessed by the author’s insight about grace and freedom.

Beautiful Mess: Grace is NOT what you think it is
    http://thebestbeautifulmess.blogspot.com/2011/01/grace-is-not-what-you-think-it-is.html

“I realized that ‘I’ had felt good about myself when I went to church. It didn’t matter what I did the rest of the week, what sins I committed- pride, laziness, vanity, talking about others- going to church made me feel like I had done something for God…”

“I am so free in Christ that I no longer feel enslaved to the duties that I am ‘supposed’ to perform?…”

“God already knows that I am going to mess up some and He gently corrects me and I continue on in our relationship with no feelings of condemnation–cause there is no condemnation in Christ!…”

“Christ is the condition of grace, nothing more, nothing less- for there is nothing more we could need, He is all sufficient…”

“Sometimes it is hard to show grace to my own children. But I know, I know, Who will be with me through every success and failure. I know who will lead me every step and refine me…”

“Freedom” by Run Kid Run (with lyrics)

    Run Kid Run ~ Freedom
All my chains I can’t disengage
And I don’t believe that I want to
    One hand sings your praise
    The other brings me shame
    I have selfishness to blame
    And I’m singing for freedom
I know I’m not the only one
    Praying to the one
Who can bring me this freedom
    I’m ready for change
Broke down I lay I keep holding my chains
No long bound but here I stay
I scream Father please I need rescuing
I need You and You alone
    And I’m singing for freedom
I know I’m not the only one
    Praying to the one
Who can bring me this freedom
    I’m ready for (change)
    Still You patiently await
Yet I won’t just let go
I see You and You alone
    Saying freedom
And so I’m singing for freedom
The time has come separation lost the war to love
Take my hand gace has found you where You once began
You’re Alive! You’re Alive! in the waking of new life
Take my hand in the end there’s only lve
    There’s only love
    There’s only singing for freeom
I know I’m not only one
    Praying to the One
Who can bring me this freedom
    I’m ready for I’m ready for…
    Father please I need rescuing
I need You and You alone

    Michael Jackson’s Family on Oprah

    | November 8, 2010

I watched Oprah’s interview with Michael’s parents, Katherine and Joe Jackson. After years of denying it, and when his wife said he might as well admit it, Joe finally confessed to beating using a strap to punish his children. I found it very sad that he was so proud that out of nine children, none of them ever went to jail. Wow. That is the standard? Raising a child that doesn’t end up in jail? He credits it to strapping them, and he has no regrets. Imagine having the parenting goal of keeping your children out of jail! I suspect it is more common than I can imagine.

I was disappointed that the grandparents sent Prince and Paris to school, but fortunately, Blanket is still being homeschooled. He is going into grade four.

I also felt disappointed that Oprah chose to interview the Jackson children and expose them to the world.

“I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues”

    | November 8, 2010

Elton John – I Guess That’s Why They Call It The Blues

    Don’t wish it away
Don’t look at it like it’s forever
    Between you and me
    I could honestly say
That things can only get better

    And while I’m away
    Dust out the demons inside
    And it won’t be long
    Before you and me run
To the place in our hearts
    Where we hide

    And I guess that’s why
    They call it the blues
    Time on my hands
Could be time spent with you
    Laughing like children
    Living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
    And I guess that’s why
    They call it the blues

    Just stare into space
Picture my face in your hands
    Live for each second
    Without hesitation
And never forget I’m your man

    Without me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself

    And I guess that’s why
    They call it the blues
    Time on my hands
Could be time spent with you
    Laughing like children
    Living like lovers
Rolling like thunder under the covers
    And I guess that’s why
    They call it the blues

    Wait on me girl
Cry in the night if it helps
But more than ever I simply love you
More than I love life itself

    And I guess that’s why
    They call it the blues
    Time on my hands
Could be time spent with you
