  • Our Laws Were Based on Christianity

“But surely, most of the laws that you mention arise from common sense rather than from religion?”
“You believe so because you were reared in the environment that the churches created. You were conditioned to regard them as the natural order of things.”

    Mark Steyn: A Post-American Planet
    http://www.nationalreview.com/articles/273161/post-american-planet-mark-steyn

“If you owe the bank a thousand dollars, you have a problem; if you owe the bank a million dollars, the bank has a problem. If you owe the banks 15,000,000,000,000 dollars, the planet has a problem…”

“Remember the Libyan war? Oh, come on. It was in all the papers for a couple of days. And then, oddly enough, the media lost interest in Obama’s war… The Libyan war never caught the imagination of the American public, even though you’re paying for most of it. But in Tehran and Moscow and Beijing they’re following it. And they regard it as a useful preview of the post-American world…”

Only libertarianism can save the GOP

This is the problem right here: “No political program in a free country can transform the character of a people.”

    Learning From History

“Each time in history that a society has tried to materialize a utopic vision of a perfect world, it has produced the most brutal and criminal regimes.” Mario Vargas Llosa

“In the long run, the aggregate of decisions of individual businessmen, exercising individual judgment in a free economy, even if often mistaken, is less likely to do harm than the centralised decisions of a government; and certainly the harm is likely to be counteracted faster.” John James Cowperthwaite

    Is Donald Trump Really Pro-Life?

    | April 8, 2011

I’ve been trying to figure out this one. I was hoping someone would ask him about his seemingly flip-flop on abortion. I doubt he has any education on the subject. I hope he has good people around him because it takes a truly pro-life person to make changes.

Trump Explains His Pro-Life Conversion: ‘I’m a Very Honorable Guy’
    http://www.theblaze.com/stories/trump-explains-his-pro-life-conversion-im-a-very-honorable-guy/

“One thing about me, I’m a very honorable guy. I’m pro-life, but I changed my view a number of years ago. One of the reasons I changed — one of the primary reasons — a friend of mine’s wife was pregnant, in this case married. She was pregnant and he didn’t really want the baby. And he was telling me the story. He was crying as he was telling me the story. He ends up having the baby and the baby is the apple of his eye. It‘s the greatest thing that’s ever happened to him. And you know here‘s a baby that wasn’t going to be let into life. And I heard this, and some other stories, and I am pro-life.” Donald Trump

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1364414/Baby-s-growing-getting-interested-politics.html#ixzz1Hq0B2ycf

“‘It was not a political gesture. It was first of all a maternal gesture – that I wanted to stay with my daughter as much as possible, and to remind people that there are women who do not have this opportunity [to bring their children to work], that we should do something to talk about this.’”
