Wow! Everything is updated and looks different!
Thank you for such a wonderful resource. I link back to this site all the time, especially when I hear that we should spank our children because the bible says so and that people are using babywise. I love all of your information!
Carol,
I linked over to your site from somewhere else (following the Michael Pearl incident). I will definitely be back when I have more time to peruse. I will love to read about your parenting philosophy. I know I will agree with alot, disagree with some, and enjoy reading where you are all coming from!
I live in Texas, nearing our 18th anniversary with my husband. We have 2 children, a daughter who will soon be 15, and a son 12. Parenting isn’t for sissies, that’s for sure. I read the whole gamut (including the Pearls, whom I did not like at all!) No matter what philosophy, it is by the grace of God we raise our children. I never want to stop learning, and even though my husband and I were 35 and 40 when our first was born (late bloomers!) I have learned so much from younger moms who make me jealous that they seem to have more on the ball than I do!
Enough rambling from me. Very nice to meet you!

I am so thankful I found your website! I was looking for specific interpretations of scripture on the Rod spanking issue. I found it here! Thank you so much for your research and posting it here!
wonderful blog
so sorry for your miscarriage last year
hope all is well with you…………..
Carol,
You must be my lost identical twin…only 14 years older.
I have 3 children…
daughter – 4
son – 2 1/2
son – 2 months
You and I have SO much in common. I’ve been wrestling a lot lately with parenting issues. My hubby (mechanical engineer, married almost 5 years) thinks that spanking MIGHT be biblical. We haven’t spanked much, but some to my dismay. We go back and forth. My hubby knows I don’t want to, but sometimes we resort to it because that’s what everyone else does that we know. Conservative, homeschooling, Christians seem to swing that way mostly – except for the rare people like you I come across.
I just came upon your website via a google search about whether or not spanking is biblical. It is time my husband and I really come to terms with this and make a solid decision, by faith, that we can lovingly carry out each day. Going back and forth and being unresolved in a solid discipline approach has been very hurtful to our children. I’m sad that we’ve gone on this long being wishy washy, but I’m determined and stronly convicted by the Holy Spirit to rise up to be the mother the Lord calls me to be…but what exactly is that?? I’m hoping your website can give us come guidance.
His,
Erin
I am preparing for the delivery of my first baby in a few weeks and wanted to find some encouraging verses for my labor. I definitely found what I needed here! I’m sure I will return to your site for future encouragement!
Thank you!
I am so happy I stumbled along here. Not really sure how exactly but I know there is a ton of relevant info that I am looking for.
I am a SAHM to four wonderful children and am seriously considering homeschooling this fall for the year at least.
I have browsed through quite a bit of your site already and believe and practice many of the same parenting techniques and practices as yourself.
I have been praying hard over this decision and it has not been an easy road. My two school age children have been in public school for 6 years and it has been a horrible experience. We have been turned down at 3 private schools this year so I am wondering if this is the Lord’s way of telling me I should be homeschooling them. We had already decided that we were for sure going to homeschool our two younger children but perhaps that is the answer for all of our children after all.
Hi, I stumbled in from the search engine. I was looking up ABeka kindergarten. We have been homeschooling since 1989. I am also a grandmother to four little ones. Thanks for sharing your homeschool advice and more.
